Pinot Gris (Pinot Gris)

Pinot Gris, loved as Grauburgunder in German-speaking regions and as Pinot Grigio in Friuli, is one of the most fascinating mutations of the Pinot family. Its reddish-grey berries bestow the wine with a natural structure and fine tannic grip, carried by aromas of ripe pears, fresh nuts and a lively acidity. On the warm loess soils of Franz Keller, the variety reveals a dense, mineral texture that pairs outstandingly with white meat or autumnal vegetable dishes. That Grauburgunder also plays a leading role in sparkling wine is proven by the traditional cuvée from Loimer, in which it joins forces with Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc to provide fine spice and a creamy substance.
