Meursault
Chardonnay of the Côte de Beaune
Not a single Grand Cru far and wide – and yet Meursault stands at the very heart of white Burgundy: Chardonnay from limestone and marl, white wine with drive and substance. We offer 26 available Meursault wines, from village cuvées through named vineyard sites to Premier Cru, many also in magnum.
Our Meursault wines

Meursault "Le Pré de Manche" AOC 2024
Floral lightness meets creamy richness – entirely without heaviness. Twelve to eighteen months in large wooden casks shape its depth and composure. An honest Meursault from biodynamic viticulture, where horses work the soil and ancient vaulted cellars slow down time.

Meursault 2023
Chalky minerality and vibrant freshness – this Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune shows focus and is free of any heaviness. Spontaneous fermentation and used wooden casks let the terroir speak without reshaping it. Calm, precise, aristocratic.

Meursault "Sous la Velle" Sans Sulfite Ajouté AOC 2023
Vibrant energy and crystalline clarity – this purist Meursault from biodynamic viticulture reveals what emerges when minimal intervention meets a living vineyard site. No sulphur added, no filtration, no bâtonnage. Only transparency, inner tension and a saline length.

Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" AOC 2023
Limestone soils from the heart of the Côte de Beaune shape this Meursault with precise structure and Burgundian elegance. The 2023 vintage brings concentrated ripeness without exaggerating the density. Here, wood serves as a quiet companion – integrated, never dominant.

Meursault En Luraule AOC 2024
Cool, pure fruit, carried by fine minerality and a multi-layered texture. Rémi Jobard forgoes roasted aromas – the wine remains focused, clear and deep. A lieu-dit with the soul of a Premier Cru that asks for time in the glass to unfold.

Meursault "Les Vignes de Marguerite" AOC 2023
Hazelnut, flint and a hint of salted popcorn – the nose reveals Meursault in its restrained complexity. On the palate, a taut acidity carries juicy fruit and fine butteriness, held together by precise minerality. The finish lingers long and fresh, with a subtle peppery spice.

Meursault Les Narvaux AOC 2024
Crystalline clarity and cool fruit, carried by limestone and two winters of cellar rest. Multi-layered and mineral on the palate, with a fine texture – without any woody spice. Rémi Jobard’s Meursault impresses through purity and precision. Top quality that never imposes itself.

Meursault Les Chevalières AOC 2023
Limestone and clay shape this Meursault – cool, mineral, purposeful. Rémi Jobard holds back the fruit, letting the terroir speak: freshness with poise, texture without opulence. The ageing in wood serves, it does not dominate. A wine that has nothing to prove.

Meursault Les Chevalières AOC 2024
Crystalline clarity, cool minerality, not a hint of toast. Rémi Jobard’s Chevalières reveals its depth through fine texture and masterful tension – calm, focused, full of finesse. Twelve hours of pressing and patient ageing shape a Chardonnay that lets the soil speak unveiled.

Meursault-Charmes Premier Cru AOC 2022
Between opulent richness and taut minerality – that is precisely where Charmes lies. Calcareous marl soils lend this Premier Cru its saline tension, while the 2022 vintage provides its precision. Rougeot Père & Fils harvests by hand whatever the terroir whispers: elegance without noise.

Meursault-Charmes Premier Cru Sans Sulfite Ajouté AOC 2023
Crystalline minerality, vibrant energy, purist texture – this Premier Cru from Meursault-Charmes forgoes any cosmetic intervention. Spontaneous fermentation, no sulphur added, unfiltered: Pierre-Henri Rougeot’s signature is uncompromising. A saline length carries the finish far.

Meursault-Charmes Premier Cru, Sans Sulfite Ajouté AOC 2022
No sulphur added, no compromise: Rougeot places complete trust in the terroir of the Les Charmes vineyard site. Jurassic limestone and clay-rich soils shape a Chardonnay of mineral depth and inner tension. Unfiltered and unadorned – Meursault in its most honest form.

Meursault Les Narvaux Élevage Prolongé AOC 2023
Cool fruit, deep minerality, silken texture – not a gram of opulence. From the limestone-driven Les Narvaux, aged over two winters, without haste and without intervention. A Meursault that understands silence as strength.

Meursault 1er Cru "Charmes" AOC 2023
Velvety richness meets taut acidity – white peach, citrus blossom and a nutty depth that makes Meursault unmistakable. The Charmes displays Burgundian elegance without pomp. Limestone-rich soils, millennia of history, biodynamic care – all culminate in a long, mineral finish.

Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes AOC 2023
Ripe apple fruit and lemon blossom carved into salty stone – generous yet precise. A vertical line of acidity runs through the palate like a steel cable, embedded in chalky-mineral depth. Long, saline, incorruptible. Les Charmes unites richness and rigour as one.

Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes AOC 2024
Crystalline purity meets velvety opulence – without ever becoming loud. Les Charmes shows density and elegant lightness at once, carried by fine texture and cool fruit. Rémi Jobard’s patience in the cellar and the legendary terroir of Meursault speak here in an unveiled, multi-layered language.

Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières AOC 2024
Crystalline clarity meets melting texture – borne by the calcareous minerality of the Genevrières. Old vines, organic farming and maturation in large wooden casks shape a Chardonnay of quiet depth. No loud effects, only precision and origin – straight-lined right through to the long finish.

Meursault 1er Cru Le Poruzot-Dessus AOC 2024
High on the slope, on clay-rich soils, this Premier Cru gains its striking structure and cool freshness. No roasted aromas, no opulence – instead, multi-layered minerality, purity and taut guidance. Twelve hours of pressing, 15 months in large wooden casks: artisanal slowness as a principle. A quiet masterpiece.

Meursault 1er Cru Le Poruzot-Dessus Élevage Prolongé AOC 2023
Crystalline clarity rather than upfront opulence – Rémi Jobard’s Meursault convinces with taut minerality and a chiselled structure. The clay-rich soils of Poruzot-Dessus lend it a powerful core. A wine that reveals its true class only with time and air.
What defines a Meursault
Meursault lies in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, between Volnay and Puligny-Montrachet, and is devoted almost entirely to Chardonnay. The village is also famous for what it does not have: a Grand Cru. At the summit instead stand Premier Crus such as Perrières, Genevrières and Charmes – and just behind them a line-up of named village sites (lieux-dits) like Narvaux, Chevalières or Sous la Velle, which stylistically often sit closer to a 1er Cru than to a simple village wine.
The old reputation of Meursault – buttery, nutty, golden – tells only half the story. Today’s finest producers vinify with greater precision: ripe apple, hazelnut, citrus, plus salt and drive; the richness remains as texture. Our selection ranges from village wines through sites such as Les Narvaux and Les Chevalières to the Premier Crus Charmes, Genevrières and Poruzot – including some bottled without added sulphur (Sans Sulfite Ajouté) and an unusually large number of magnums: the format in which white Burgundy ages most slowly and most beautifully. If you wish to continue tasting the limestone of the Côte de Beaune, you will find it a few kilometres south in Chassagne-Montrachet – there in both white and red.

Frequently asked questions
What is Meursault?
A wine village on the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, an AOC since 1937 and planted almost entirely with Chardonnay. Meursault ranks among the most renowned white wine origins in the world.
Why does Meursault have no Grand Cru?
No vineyard site was classified as Grand Cru when the hierarchy was established. At the top stand Premier Crus such as Perrières, Genevrières and Charmes – Les Perrières is considered by many to be a secret Grand Cru.
What does Meursault taste like?
Ripe apple, hazelnut, often a hint of butter and brioche from ageing in wood – yet in the modern style there is considerably more tension and salinity than its old reputation would suggest.
What do the vineyard names on the label mean?
Named village sites (lieux-dits) such as Les Narvaux or Sous la Velle may appear on the label without being Premier Cru. They are priced below them, yet stylistically often remarkably close.
What pairs well with Meursault?
Poultry in cream sauce, scallops, lobster, pan-fried fish and a mature Comté.
How much does a good Meursault cost?
There is hardly any serious Meursault below 60 to 70 euros. Village sites from good producers are around 100 euros, Premier Crus above that.
How do I recognise a good Meursault?
By the balance between creamy texture and tension. Cask and lees provide hazelnut and richness, the limestone soil drive and freshness. A Meursault that tastes merely buttery is not one of the good ones.
