More about Diel

Three layers, three worlds

The Pittermännchen Measures just one hectare. Grey Devonian slate, steep, difficult to work. The Rieslings taste of crushed chalk and grapefruit, delicate and playful. The Gold hole extends over thirteen hectares of gravelly loam - wines of juicy richness, yellow stone fruit and ripe peach thrive here. The Castle Hill finally lies in a cauldron mould with ferrous clay: Salty minerality, smoky depth, enormous potential. All three sites were documented as first-class as early as 1901 - long before the VDP classification system existed.
