Wine information
The Ambre Rouge 2021 is a Pinot Gris fermented on the skins with small amounts of Auxerrois from the Grand Cru Sonnenglanz, planted by Pierre's grandfather.
Color
bright campari red
Nose
The fragrance of the Ambre Rouge discreet and almost closed. The fruit is reminiscent of barberry and red currants as well as apple peel. In addition, there is an aroma of damp pebbles and a little lichen. In fact, the wine smells mainly stony and tannic.
Palate
On the palate, however, the Pinot maceré becomes complex and elegant. The gravelliness recedes into the background. Instead, a warm fruit of ripe raspberries and wild strawberries with a little blood orange shows. It is a silky, warm wine with a cool mineral vein, whose fruit is enveloped by a fine but distinctive tannin. The finish is grippy and bone dry, dense and long.
