Wine description for naked orange by Heinrich

Colour & Appearance
A slightly hazy salmon pink with seductive orange-red reflections – the wine reveals in the glass what it is: an orange wine that scores with elegance rather than rusticity.
Nose
The nose is a lively citrus festival: mandarin, blood orange, grapefruit and fresh orange zest play in all their forms – freshly cut, candied, dried. These are joined by orange blossom, rosehip and delicate red fruit teas as well as a hint of rooibos. Fresh herbs such as mint and parsley add invigorating accents, whilst anise and fennel subtly emerge with a touch of warmth in the glass.
Palate
On the palate, the Naked Orange reveals its true strength: freshness and lightness dominate, the skin contact is clearly perceptible – but as a gentle kiss, not an embrace. The citrus fruit recedes, and now raspberry, redcurrant and rooibos take centre stage. A fine, pleasant bitter note gives the fruit structure and depth, the herbs linger refreshingly.
Finish
Medium length, characterised by cool herbal spice and an elegant bitter finish – dry, invigorating, with the reflex for the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
Heike and Gernot Heinrich count amongst the defining winemaking personalities of Burgenland. Around the Neusiedlersee, their vineyard sites benefit from a Pannonian-continental climate with long, warm autumns – ideal conditions for fully ripe, aromatically dense fruit.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A cuvée of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, made as a classic orange wine with skin contact. The vinification follows the principle of minimal intervention – the wine is natural, slightly hazy and lively.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Ideal with salmon tartare with red onions, radishes and pickled raspberries. Equally convincing with a couscous salad with feta, cranberry and almonds or with roasted sourdough bread with avocado, cherry tomatoes and dill.
Special Features
The name is the programme: „Naked Orange“ stands for transparency and authenticity. No make-up, no artifice – an orange wine that shows how much elegance lies in reducing things to their essence. Equally suited to those new to the orange wine universe as to connoisseurs who value finesse over power.
