Also known as: Sylvaner (France/Alsace), Grüner Silvaner (Austria), Johannisberger (Switzerland)

Silvaner makes little noise. The variety delivers no exotic aromas, no striking acidity, no show – and that is precisely its value. What remains: clarity, minerality, a direct connection to the soil. In Franconia, where shell limestone and Keuper shape the terroir, this principle becomes a virtue.

At the Zehnthof of the Luckert family in Sulzfeld, Silvaners of quiet intensity emerge – not loud wines, but those with depth. Chestnut in Rheinhessen demonstrates that the variety has substance beyond Franconia, whilst Odinstal in the Palatinate proves that Silvaner, when approached biodynamically, reveals new facets.
