Hárslevelü

The Hungarian grape variety Hárslevelü owes its name to the vine’s lime-leaf-like leaves, and indeed its aroma in the glass often recalls linden blossom, fine blossom honey and ripe yellow fruits. Native to the Pannonian region, it brings a fascinating balance of rich, almost baroque aromatics and a gripping, vibrant acidity structure. Whether vinified dry or noble sweet: it lends cuvées an unmistakable, herbal-spicy depth.

This versatility is also reflected in our range. The Királyudvar winery masterfully utilises the variety’s fine extract sweetness and floral spice in classic Tokaj cuvées ranging from dry to noble sweet. That Hárslevelü can also flourish in unconventional ways is proven by Meinklang with a wildly fruity Pet Nat alongside Juhfark, while Moric presents the variety in a refreshingly lively dry Tokaj blend.
