The 2010 vintage ranks among the truly great years in several regions. In the vintage chart, Barolo, Brunello, both halves of the Rhône and the red Burgundies achieve the “outstanding” level. The Piedmont vintages describe Barolo as having plenty of acidity and firm yet ripe tannins, while among the Brunello vintages 2010 is regarded as a benchmark, its wines still considered young. On the Rhône, poor flowering pushed yields down to historically low levels; today the south shows itself to be open, while the north remains closed. The Champagne vintages record the best Chardonnay in ten years, despite late-summer storms.

Available from this vintage are Champagnes such as the Extra Brut from Jestin, the Inspiration Brut from Huré Frères, the four Blanc de Noirs Contrées from Olivier Horiot and the Les Grands Nots Brut Nature from Jeaunaux-Robin, along with the Gevrey-Chambertin Alea 1er Cru from Trapet Père & Fils in Burgundy and the Riesling L’Épicentre Schlossberg from Domaine Albert Mann in Alsace. Older vintages come and go with us in small quantities; the neighbouring vintages can be reached via the vintage bar below this text.
