Wine Description for Inspiration Brut 2010 by Huré Frères

Colour & Appearance
Shifting between straw and gold yellow, with an elegant, finely bubbling mousse – a Champagne that already signals maturity and substance in the glass.
Nose
Complex and inviting: white flowers, white-fleshed fruits and a lively citrus facet of green lime and ripe yellow lemon. These are joined by seductive notes of patisserie, roasted almonds and fine nuts – a Champagne that unites depth and elegance in rare balance.
Palate
The entry is captivating: taut freshness, a precise acidity and a vibrant, almost tonic minerality carry the wine across the palate. The fruit is crisp and ripe, whilst the oak ageing contributes a creamy, silky texture, without dampening the vibrancy in the slightest. Power and finesse go hand in hand here.
Finish
Long, saline and refreshingly precise – the saline finish underscores the mineral origin and leaves behind a Champagne that lingers in the memory for a long time.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from north-facing parcels in Champagne – an unusual exposure that provides cool ripening, natural acidity and pronounced mineral tension.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A cuvée of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The base wine was aged in new 350-litre barrels – a first for Huré Frères. Subsequently, the Champagne matured twelve years sur lattes under natural cork, which gives it that creamy depth and oxidative complexity that sets it apart from conventional producers.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Ideal with lobster in butter sauce, scallops on cauliflower velouté, aged Comté or a classic chicken fricassée. Also a memorable experience as a standalone Champagne for leisurely enjoyment.
Special Features
A unique creation from the experimental laboratory of the Huré brothers – conceived as a one-off project that will not be repeated in this form. Anyone who has the chance to get hold of a bottle should not hesitate.
