Vintage 1987

The 1987 vintage dates back almost forty years, and available bottles from it are correspondingly rare. In Piedmont, it produced solid but not great wines in both Barolo and Barbaresco, as our overview of Piedmont vintages shows. Those seeking a bottle from this vintage are usually doing so to mark a birth year or an anniversary.

Currently available is the Vintage Port 1987 from Niepoort in the Vinho do Porto region, as well as, from the Wachau, the Baumgarten Weißburgunder Federspiel-Kabinett 1987 from Nikolaihof, the latter also in magnum format.
