Wine description for Weisser Burgunder "Im Sonnenschein" GG 2024 from Ökonomierat Rebholz

Colour & appearance
Medium straw yellow with brilliant clarity - a Pinot Blanc that is visually restrained and prefers to reveal its quality on the palate.
Nose
The typical restraint of the 2024 vintage at Rebholz is evident here: the aroma is almost shy at first, but of remarkable finesse. Ripe lemons with a touch of Bergamot accompanied by Verbena and subtle hints of Pome and stone fruit. Particularly appealing are the mineral notes of Oyster shell and Graphite - a chalky elegance that promises excitement.
Palate
What was still restrained on the nose unfolds with a convincing presence on the palate. This Pinot Blanc is Juicy, lively and agile, without losing its fine line. The white-fleshed fruit connects with Agrumen, while a polished acidity (5.5 g/l) provides freshness. The texture is creamy, almost flattering, but the stony minerality of the shell limestone gives the wine backbone and depth. With only 0.5 g/l residual sugar, this is an uncompromisingly dry, precise Pinot Blanc.
Departure
Long, mineral and with persistent freshness - the wine finishes with fine citrus spice and salty minerality.
Terroir & origin
The situation In the sunshine in the Siebeldinger Sonnenseite is a speciality: south-west facing in the Queich valley, not east facing like most Palatinate vineyards. At an altitude of 160 to 250 metres, 40-year-old vines are rooted in the purest shell limestone from the Triassic - a terroir that gives this Pinot Blanc its characteristic minerality.
Grape variety & vinification
100% Pinot Blanc, slowly pressed on the basket press, spontaneously fermented in stainless steel - Without any wood insert. This purist vinification allows terroir and fruit to speak unadulterated and impressively demonstrates how great Pinot Blanc can be when it favours finesse over opulence.
Food pairing suggestions
Oysters, Scallops, Steamed turbot with lemon butter, Sweetbreads, Asparagus with hollandaise sauce or a creamy Goat's cheese risotto.
Special features
An Grosses Gewächs, that emphasises elegance over power - a Pinot Blanc of international stature from one of the most renowned wineries in the Palatinate.
