Wine Description for Meursault „Les Vignes de Marguerite“ AOC 2023 by Henri & Gilles Buisson

Colour & Appearance
Quite pale straw yellow with brilliant clarity – a classic appearance for a young Meursault, promising freshness and elegance.
Nose
Here Meursault reveals its subtle, by no means opulent side: roasted hazelnuts, oak and vanilla meld with ripe pineapple and lemon. Unusually appealing are the hints of salted popcorn and a mineral trace of gunpowder – a multi-layered, harmonious bouquet that combines restraint with precision.
Palate
Irresistible. The fruit presents itself ripe, juicy and expressive, supported by a taut, fresh acidity and vibrant minerality. The oak influence is measured and precisely calibrated: elegant spice, well-integrated nutty notes and a subtle buttery quality lend complexity without dominating. A mouth-watering salinity and discreet pepper on the finish round out the picture.
Finish
Medium to long, with persistent minerality and a fine peppery spice that invites the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from 70-year-old vines in the parcels Chevalières and Luchets, situated at around 280 metres altitude. These old vines provide the concentration and depth that distinguish this wine.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Chardonnay, aged for ten to twelve months in a thoughtfully composed blend of barriques (228, 350 and 500 litres), tonneaux, WineGlobes and concrete eggs – only a maximum of 10% new wood. Frédéric Buisson tasted daily and racked barrels as soon as it seemed appropriate. Bentonite fining, coarse filtration, minimal sulphiting (40–50 mg/l total) at bottling. A wine that documents craftsmanship and fine touch.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Pan-seared scallops, lobster with herb butter, veal schnitzel in cream sauce, risotto with porcini mushrooms, Comté or Beaufort – wherever finesse meets substance.
Special Features
A tribute to grandmother Marguerite Buisson, whose dowry vineyards form the foundation for this wine. A Meursault that elegantly combines tradition and modern vinification – authentic, unmanipulated, with soul.
