In the glass

  1. Colour

Dark, alluring cherry red with delicate violet reflections and a dense, concentrated core.

  2. Nose

Rich and profound: sour cherry, blackberry, elderberry and cassis meet beetroot, rosemary, thyme and green olive. Eucalyptus, mint, juniper and cardamom lend coolness and complexity.

  3. Palate

Juicy and dark like elderberry cordial for grown-ups, with blackberry, sweet cherry and raspberry. Savoury notes of liquorice, grated chocolate, light coffee and pepper; the tannins melt away, while the acidity grips refreshingly on the finish.

  4. Character

Powerful yet never heavy: the south-facing vineyard site provides warmth and fruit depth, whilst slate and old vines ensure stony freshness and cool tension. A Priorat that dances rather than blusters.

  5. Pairing

Rack of lamb with rosemary and thyme, braised aubergine with black olives, aged Manchego.

  6. Notes

Entirely macerated, fermented and aged in concrete — not a moment in wood. From a hot, dry year with minuscule yields comes a wine of astonishing balance, fine tannins and gastronomic freshness.

Tasting note

Colour & appearance
Dark, beguiling cherry red with delicate violet reflections and a dense, concentrated core.
Nose
Rich and deep, yet cool and finely delineated: sour cherry, Burlat cherry and blackberry, followed by elderberry and cassis. Earthy notes of beetroot and salsify lend weight, while rosemary, thyme and green olive bring the Mediterranean warmth of the Priorat into the glass. A touch of eucalyptus and mint provides freshness, juniper and cardamom add depth. Not a gram of heaviness, not a trace of over-extraction.
Palate
Like an elderberry cordial for adults: dark, juicy, carried by a fine spiciness. Blackberry, sweet cherry and raspberry are precisely framed by acidity and a spicy structure. Alongside this, grated chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, liquorice and pepper. The tannins practically melt away without losing any grip. Beneath lies a stony, cool tension – the schist makes its presence felt, quietly but unmistakably.
Finish
Becomes increasingly lighter and more acid-driven; the aromas brighten, appearing ethereal and refreshing. A long, cool finale that evokes high altitude rather than southern heat.
Terroir & origin
The vines are located in the immediate vicinity of the winery in Torroja del Priorat, on a slope facing entirely south at an altitude of around 300 metres. There, 50- to 70-year-old Carignan vines are rooted in the distinctive schist soils that give the wine its cool, stony signature. The 2023 vintage was marked by extreme drought; harvesting began as early as mid-August, yielding a small crop of fine balance and elegant tannins.
Grape variety & vinification
Pure Carignan. After hand-harvesting, the whole bunches macerate and ferment for seven to eight days in cement tanks; the eight-month maturation also takes place exclusively in cement. Not a moment in wood – a consistent expression of the estate’s philosophy: infusion rather than extraction, elegance rather than power.
Food recommendations
The cool spice and juicy texture call for rack of lamb with rosemary, braised aubergine with black olives or wild boar stew with juniper. Also a harmonious match with hard sheep’s cheese from the region.
Special features
Dominik Huber and head winemaker Tatjana Peceric farm the estate’s roughly 15 hectares organically and biodynamically – and are among the earliest to harvest in the region. Dits del Terra demonstrates where this approach leads: a south-facing Priorat from old vines that remains cool, refined and positively dance-like despite a drought year. Finesse over brute force – few estates embody this philosophy quite like this one.
