Color

Dark purple in colour with a violet rim and opaque core, the wine shows clearly and brilliantly in the glass.

Nose

Priory as it lives and breathes; a proud, strong paw of a hand criss-crossed with deep furrows and strewn with the signs of time, yet full of warm-hearted security.

Dark berry heft of damson roast, stewed elderberries and blueberries board the glass. Umeboshi apricots and heart cherries, as well as the spice of pipe tobacco, cinnamon stick, tarragon and black pepper round off and spread. In addition, dark chocolate in the classic and harmonious motto rum - grape - nut.

Palate

Strong and powerful, yet warm and sensitive, the 2017 Mas del Metge Tros de Clos from Portal del Priorat has an almost sublime, majestic side. A powerful rich attack spreads across the palate and is occupied by stout and grainy tannins. With moderate acidity, this Carignan shows fervent steadfastness and presents convincingly the local color of its origin.
