Wine information
The Pibarnon Bandol Rouge is a cuvée of 90 % Mourvèdre and 10 % Grenache. The yields are around 30 hl/ha. The vines are planted in an "amphitheatre" facing the sea on Triassic clay, limestone and chalk. For this vin de guard only the best and oldest vines at a medium altitude of 250 metres are used. Fermentation takes about three weeks. Afterwards, the wines are aged plot by plot in matching barriques, tonneaux and barrels of different provenance for 20 months.

Nose
An ethereal fragrance lies over the 2020s Bandol Rouge. It reminds of lavender, roses, mint and juniper in combination with ripe cherries, plums, blackberries and a little elderberries. In addition, there are nuances of blood oranges and a little vanilla. Without question, this wine belongs to the more modern representatives of the appellation, but also to those that appear very sexy early on.
Palate
This is not only the case in the aroma, but also in the mouthfeel. There is the BandolIf you have given it enough time and air in the carafe, it is already a charmer - despite the indisputably striking acid structure and tannin. This blend of ripe black cherry, crisp plum, light liquorice, cinnamon as well as vanilla with this hint of tonka bean, violet and pepper is simply very seductive, especially as this wine, as elegant as it is robust, has a pleasantly cool fresh vein and a beautiful length.
