The Ministre Imperial is the qualitative top of Comte Abbatucci's red wines. The cuvée is based on the autochthonous grape varieties Niellucciu, Sciaccarello, Morescono, Montanaccia, Carcajolo Nero and Aléatico. After the entre, the must undergoes several weeks of maceration. Both punching down and pouring over the marc are used regularly. The wine is aged in conical barrels as well as in small oak barrels. After about a year, the wine is racked into steel tanks where it is allowed to settle.
Color
Bright purple with delicate violet reflections
Nose
The nose lives directly from the mixture of cool breezes and warm sunshine hours at the mid-void. Pure garrigue. Rosemary, lavender, thyme and pine groves are intensely perceptible. Behind this lies a multitude of fruits. Mulberry, cassis, raspberry and elderberry. Hibiscus, violets and pansies provide elegant floral notes. Juniper and red pepper have an effect on us in the background. Melted milk chocolate spreads with a little cocoa and gently roasted coffee beans.
Palate
On the palate, it is extremely supple. Fine as silk and totally characterised by minerality. Cool and full of finesse, it spreads a fruity carpet in front of us. The tannin is compact and keeps itself in check. The pleasantly effective bitter substances complement the fruit congenially. It is very animating and benefits enormously from its salty character. In the middle, it oscillates between compactness and soft, delicate features. The fruit is discreetly lactic, but always marked by restraint and elegance. White pepper and hints of ethereal-spicy nuances determine the finish. A very independent character wine.
