Tasting note

Colour & appearance
Pale, clear lemon yellow with greenish reflections – a wine that promises freshness from the very first glance.
Nose
A bouquet of remarkable depth: chamomile, jasmine and broom form a floral opening, followed by freshly blanched almonds, green pear, whitecurrants and a stony undertone. Effortlessly aromatic yet substantial – the kind of nose that keeps you holding the glass longer than intended.
Palate
Structure and lightness in one breath: juicy pale fruit, a subtly iodine-tinged minerality full of energy, accompanied by delicate herbal notes and a stony spice that lends depth through gentle extract. Piquant, precise, with lovely length – a Trebbiano that demonstrates why this variety is capable of far more than its reputation suggests.
Finish
Clean, invigorating and saline-mineral, with a spicy aftertaste that lingers on the palate.
Terroir & origin
The vines are rooted in three vineyard sites between Sirmione, Peschiera and Pozzolengo – less than eight hundred metres from Lake Garda, in the historic heart of the Lugana DOC. The soil: calcareous, heavy clay, the classic foundation of the finest Lugana crus. The lake acts as a thermal buffer, granting the Turbiana that rare combination of ripe fruit and taut acidity.
Grape variety & vinification
Trebbiano di Soave – known locally as Turbiana – from vines over 40 years old. After destemming and gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel. The wine then matures for around twelve months on the fine lees in unlined concrete tanks, followed by six months of bottle rest – an ageing process that builds texture and purity without any trace of wood.
Food recommendations
A versatile white at the table: with grilled sea bass with lemon oil, asparagus risotto, spaghetti alle vongole or fennel bulb carpaccio – it feels entirely at home wherever freshness and structure are called for.
Special features
Marangona is among the few organically certified estates in the Lugana DOC – officially so since 2017. The concrete tank as a maturation vessel, which earned the estate the Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso for its sister cuvée Cemento 2025, impressively demonstrates here how restraint can lead to clarity. A Lugana with a drinking window of ten years and beyond – and yet already irresistibly open today.
