Key information about the wine:
Our silver label bottle conceals a careful selection of Riesling grapes. They come from steep vineyards in the Wonnegau around Hohen-Sülzen and the Zellertal with its lime-rich soils. After a hand selection and a further check at the sorting table, they mature in old double piece barrels as well as stainless steel tanks and are not left on the yeast until well into the next spring.
Colourfulness:
This wine sparkles in the glass in a bright golden yellow.
Bouquet:
The "Riesling Eisquell" vintage 2022 reveals a true symphony of fruit aromas. Mirabelles and apricots can be discovered, accompanied by a lively freshness of citrus fruits, oranges and grapefruit. Herbal nuances as well as ginger add complexity, crowned by a mineral depth that impresses even in the entry-level class of Battenfeld Spanier wines.
Flavour notes:
On the palate, it enters the stage with pure verve and juiciness, peppered with further mineral notes - and all that with only 12 % alcohol. The long finish invites you to reach for the glass again and again. This is the start of an impressive wine collection!
Alternative food recommendations:
- Enjoy it with a smooth sweet potato cream soup and parmesan chips.
- It harmonises equally well with a creamy risotto with lime, thyme and tender grilled monkfish.
- Or try it with the oven pizza with thin slices of potato, strips of bacon and a fresh rocket pesto.
