Wine Description for Duemani Costa Toscana IGP 2020 by Duemani

Colour & Appearance
Deep, muted garnet red, almost black at its core – shot through with vibrant violet reflections. A wine that signals depth and seriousness even in the glass.
Nose
Seductive and complex: black cherries and blackberries form the sweet, dark foundation. With air, layers unfold of dark chocolate, roasted chestnuts and a whisper of coffee with milk. Cooler, mineral notes of Kampot pepper, wild sage and eucalyptus lend the bouquet an elegant tension – a quiet hint of green pepper recalls the noble heritage of Cabernet Franc.
Palate
Juicy and of sensual fullness, yet remarkably precise. The tannin is fine and silky – noble without harshness. A refreshing acidity carries the wine, embedded in pronounced saline minerality that recalls proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea. For all its weight – 14.5% alcohol – this wine maintains a remarkable lightness and finesse.
Finish
Long, spicy and persistent. Dark fruit and herbal spice linger long after the final sip. A wine that rewards patience – already a pleasure today, with excellent ageing potential for further years in the cellar.

The grapes come from the finest parcels of the vineyard in Riparbella, Tuscany – facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The maritime breeze directly shapes the cool, mineral character of this extraordinary terroir.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Cabernet Franc, produced according to biodynamic Demeter principles. Vinification in conical wooden vats, followed by maturation in barriques. Bottled without fining or filtration – artisanal integrity in every detail. With this wine, Luca D’Attoma once again proves that Cabernet Franc in the Maremma can reach world-class stature.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Ideal with venison loin with juniper berry jus, fir, blackberries and celeriac purée. Equally brilliant with Wagyu beef short rib in yuzu-teriyaki with miso potato mousse. For vegetarians a revelation with risotto with black truffle and celery emulsion.
