- Deep cherry red with luminous violet reflections – a visual promise of concentration and youthfulness.
- Nose
- This single-varietal Cabernet Franc unfolds extraordinary aromatic complexity. Plums, stewed cinnamon plums and blackberry dominate initially, accompanied by blackcurrant, elderflower and raspberry. The vegetable notes typical of Cabernet Franc – beetroot and red pepper – reveal themselves perfectly mature and harmoniously integrated. A fascinating spice spectrum of cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and white pepper lends the wine additional depth. Dark chocolate and cocoa butter meld with hints of warm leather, saddle leather and cigar box – associations that inevitably recall the great Cabernet Francs of Saint-Émilion. Delicate violet floral notes round off the bouquet. The nose feels simultaneously warm and cool, opulent and elegant – a fascinating paradox.
- Palate
- On the palate, the true class of this wine reveals itself. The impressive aromatic depth combines with perfectly integrated acidity and silky, delicate tannins to create a complete work of remarkable finesse. The minerality – rarely expressed with such precision in red wines of this intensity – lends the wine a cool, almost floating elegance. The intense fruit appears surprisingly feminine and fine-grained. Acidity and fruit build in waves repeatedly, whilst the vegetable notes of beetroot and pepper alongside chocolate, black pepper and floral accents characterise the lingering finish.
- Terroir & Origin
- The finest parcels in Riparbella at 220-250 metres altitude, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The 17-year-old vines are rooted in chalky, clay and gravel-rich soils – ideal conditions for world-class Cabernet Franc.
- Grape Variety & Vinification
- 100% Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested in late September and double-selected. Spontaneous fermentation in temperature-controlled conical oak vessels, 30 days of skin contact. 22 months maturation in French barriques (80% new, 20% second-fill). Bottled unfiltered on 16.10.2020.

- Braised ox cheeks with sweet potato purée, Côte de Boeuf with Béarnaise sauce, cooked beetroot with Pimientos de Padrón and basil pesto.
