Info
The pure Cabernet Franc comes from the best parcels of the vineyards in Riparbella. The vineyards are located at 220 - 250 metres above sea level, facing the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vine age is 17 years. The soils are calcareous and rich in clay and pebbles. The manual harvest took place at the end of September with first selection in the vineyard. The grapes are gently destemmed to avoid damaging the skins. A second selection follows on the sorting table.
Spontaneous fermentation in conical oak barrels with temperature control. A 30-day maceration period follows with short and regular pump overs. It is then aged in small French oak barrels for 22 months. 80% of the barrels are new. 20% are in the second ageing. No filtration before bottling. Filling date 16.10.2020

Nose
The nose of the 2018 Duemani shows phenomenal concentration and density. Plums, preserved cinnamon plums and blackberry start the round. Cassis, elderberry and raspberry follow. Beetroot and red pepper deliver ripe, vegetal notes. From the spice cupboard, he elicits cloves, cardamom and white pepper in addition to the aforementioned cinnamon note. Dark chocolate and a small dose of cocoa butter provide an absolute sense of well-being. A subtle but distinct note of warm leather, horse saddle and cigar box take you back to Saint-Emilion and the white horse. Finally, violet floral notes provide a balanced as well as versatile fragrance to the wine. The nose is almost infinitely generous and inviting. Warm, yet cool and full of elegance.
Palate
On the palate, it finally reaches its peak. The symbiosis of highest aromatic depth with the perfect acid structure and very delicate tannin. Full of finesse, cool notes and elegance. If minerality is perfectly expressed in a red wine, then it is in this Cabernet Franc from Duemani. The intense fruit suddenly seems so feminine and delicate. The taste buds are attacked in parallel on different levels. Wonderful. Acidity and fruit keep reappearing on the palate. The vegetal notes are pleasant and full-bodied. The aftertaste is dominated by beetroot and peppers, chocolate and black pepper, as well as floral notes.
