Terroir & Origin

The estate is located in Siebeldingen on the Southern Wine Route, where the Palatinate boasts some of its warmest and driest vineyard sites. The Rebholz vineyards benefit from Buntsandstein, limestone and marl – soils that lend the Pinot Blanc a distinctive minerality. The climate allows for a long growing season, giving the grapes time to develop complexity and depth, whilst cool nights preserve freshness. Here wines are created with southern Palatinate warmth and simultaneously Burgundian finesse.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Pinot Blanc, known in Germany as Weißburgunder, is an underestimated grape variety that, in the right hands, achieves great expressiveness. Rebholz treats it with the respect others reserve for Pinot Noir: spontaneous fermentation, ageing on the lees, often in traditional wooden barrels that give the wine structure without dominating it. The result is wines with creamy texture, depth and ageing potential – far removed from simple, fruit-driven everyday wines. The dry orientation underscores the serious, terroir-focused philosophy of the estate.
