Wine description for Sulzfelder Weisser Burgunder trocken 2025 by Luckert – Zehnthof

Colour & appearance
Pale straw yellow with distinct green reflections – youthfully fresh in the glass.
Nose
The subtle nose reveals typical aromas of pear, quince, white blossoms and honey. Delicate notes of almond and a hint of aniseed can also be discerned. A harmonious Pinot Blanc that promises succulence on the palate.
Palate
It delivers precisely this succulence and gentle acidity on the palate. Its charming character makes it a perfect match for a wide variety of dishes, without ever becoming dull!
Finish
Fresh and succulent on the finish, with a fine aftertaste of almond and a touch of aniseed.
Terroir & origin
From Sulzfeld in Franconia, where the Zehnthof Luckert estate has been cultivating ungrafted vines for generations. The vineyard sites along the Main benefit from shell limestone soils, which lend the wines their mineral depth.
Grape variety & vinification
100% Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder). Maturation in large wooden casks, spontaneous fermentation – an approach consistently pursued by cellar master Philipp Luckert.
Food recommendations
A versatile food companion: excellent with pan-fried pike-perch, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, white meat or fresh goat’s cheese. Also a fine choice for Asian dishes with mild spicing.
Special features
While the Luckerts are unique worldwide with their four Silvaner colour variants, this Pinot Blanc showcases another side of the estate: uncomplicated drinking pleasure without compromising artisanal care. Spontaneous fermentation and maturation in large wooden casks give it a texture that elevates it well above simple entry-level wines.
