Wine Description for Vindabeive rosso 2024 by Valfaccenda

Colour & Appearance
Pale, luminous ruby red with youthful transparency – a wine that reveals its minimalist extraction visually and invites curiosity.
Nose
Effervescently fresh and aromatically precise: sour cherries and lingonberries dominate, underpinned by delicate violet notes and a whisper of bay leaf. The nose displays that filigree elegance which characterises Nebbiolo even in its most light-footed interpretation – clearly defined, without any heaviness.
Palate
Here the Vindabeive unfolds its full magic: a fine fermentation carbonation makes the wine positively sparkle on the palate and lends it an almost electrifyingly lively texture. The ultra-brief maceration of just five days produces gossamer-thin tannins that don’t restrain the juicy fruit but rather structure it. With its 12.5% alcohol, this is a textbook example of a drink-friendly, uncomplicated Nebbiolo – a „Super-Glou“ that redefines the genre. The drinking flow is rapid, the urge to pour another glass absurdly high.
Finish
Fresh, fruity and remarkably present for a wine of this lightness. The acidity carries the red fruit through to the end without ever becoming obtrusive.
Terroir & Origin
The sandy, ancient seabeds of Roero – once part of the Gulf of Padania – fundamentally shape the character of this wine. Luca Faccenda and Carolina Roggera have farmed their parcels with certified organic methods since 2014 and consistently focus on indigenous grape varieties that can authentically express the terroir.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100% Nebbiolo from young vines, approximately half fermented as whole bunches. The maceration period of just five days and rapid ageing in the cuvée preserve youthful freshness and deliberately minimise tannin extraction.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Served lightly chilled, an ideal companion to antipasti, vitello tonnato, bresaola or grilled vegetables. Also a revelation with pizza Margherita or pasta al pomodoro.
Special Features
A Nebbiolo that proves great grape varieties can transport character and origin even in their lightest form – terroir expression without extraction excess.
