Tasting note
Colour & appearance
Bright, medium straw yellow – clear and fresh in the glass, a wine that looks like light itself.

An intoxicatingly fragrant bouquet, carried by hoppy notes that lend this Muskateller an idiosyncratic, almost cool twist. Alongside these come elderflower, bergamot, a touch of nutmeg, kumquat and lemon zest, with delicate hints of apple and pear beneath. Expressive yet never loud – a lively, finely drawn fragrance.
Palate
The intense aromatics meet cool, herbal and stony elements. A gentle texture with light phenolics, accompanied by pleasant acidity and a finely tingling minerality. Dry, playful, precise.
Finish
Fresh and gripping, with lingering herbal and citrus spice that stays long on the palate, cleansing it rather than weighing it down.
Terroir & origin
The grapes come from various Sulzfeld vineyard sites on upper Muschelkalk. Sulzfeld am Main is home to Zehnthof Luckert, an estate steeped in tradition, housed in the prince-bishop’s tithe barn dating back to 1558 – a VDP member for decades and named Winery of the Year 2025 by VINUM. The limestone-dominated soils lend this wine its cool, stony character.
Grape variety & vinification
Gelber Muskateller, spontaneously fermented and aged in large wooden casks – entirely in keeping with the house style, which consistently relies on natural yeasts and gentle cellar work. With 5.8 g/l acidity and 3.8 g/l residual sugar, this is a dry wine of fine balance.
Food recommendations
Its herbal-floral nature and hoppy spice make it the ideal glass for asparagus with herb butter, Asian dishes with coriander and lime, grilled fish or cream cheese with chives. As an aperitif on mild evenings, it is as distinctive as it is refreshing.
Special features
This Muskateller presents itself as dry, cool and of surprising depth. The hoppy aromatics combined with Muschelkalk minerality make it an idiosyncratic, highly aromatic wine full of character.
