Barbera is one of the oldest Piedmontese grape varieties and simultaneously one of the most underrated. Its natural acidity and moderate tannin structure make it accessible without becoming flat – a variety that requires neither effort nor explanation. What appears unremarkable with mediocre viticulture develops astonishing depth on calcareous soils and with reduced yields: dark cherries, cloves, sometimes a smoky note.

In the range, Vietti demonstrates the full spectrum – from accessible entry-level wines to age-worthy single-vineyard bottlings. Sottimano and Olek Bondonio prove that Barbera can also convince beyond the classic appellations.
