Nose
The nose of the 2005 Pinot Gris Heimbourg Sélection de Grains Nobles presents itself spicy and sweet at the same time. Aromas of dried fruit, honey and resin mingle with white pepper, galangal and cardamom; delicate hints of cedar and tobacco box can also be detected.
Palate
On the palate, the 2005 Pinot Gris Heimbourg Sélection de Grains Nobles also offers a nice interplay between concentrated sweetness and savoury spice. Savoury dishes and desserts with a sweet touch suit it perfectly.
The west-facing Heimbourg vineyard enjoys ideal conditions for the development of noble rot , which was particularly evident in 2005. The resulting Pinot Gris 2005 SGN shows markedly intense scents of noble rot, beeswax, honey and resin. The palate presents flavours of apricot and white fruits and the wonderful sweetness of the high residual sugar is harmoniously balanced by the alcohol content. The finish is long and persistent. A delicate Trockenbeerenauslese with exceptional storage potential.
