Wine Description for Latitude Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 1500ml Magnum by Larmandier-Bernier

Colour & Appearance
Radiant lemon yellow in the glass, crowned by a vibrant, large-bubbled mousse that impressively underscores the quality and freshness of this Blanc de Blancs.
Nose
A radically dry, chalky mineral-driven bouquet that immediately reveals the chalk soils of Vertus. Citrus freshness pairs with the unusual aroma of white strawberries, whilst herbal spice and a slightly bitter tonic water note provide tension. Clear, bright, uncompromisingly dry.
Palate
Here unfolds the full class of an authentic Champagne terroir: precise, pure, razor-sharp. The bony minerality of a young Blanc de Blancs meets a surprising fullness and depth, stemming from the warmer southern vineyard sites in Vertus. This richness lends the wine substance without diluting its crystalline clarity. A tension-laden interplay between chalky freshness and sunny ripeness.
Finish
Long-lasting and mineral-dry, with a slightly bitter aftertaste that invites the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The Chardonnay vines thrive in the flatter, warmer southern vineyard sites of Vertus on the legendary chalk soils of the Côte des Blancs. This exposure brings a balance between mineral precision and fruity fullness.
Grape Variety & Vinification
A thoroughbred Blanc de Blancs from 100% Chardonnay. The cuvée unites wines from up to six vintages and matures 24 months sur lattes. With only four grams of dosage, the Latitude remains true to its Extra Brut character – a Champagne for purists.
Food Pairing Suggestions
The crisp acidity and minerality harmonise perfectly with Cedra lemon carpaccio with scallop tartare, duck rillettes with brioche or as an aperitif with puff pastry Parmesan biscuits. Also an excellent choice with raw fish, oysters or aged goat’s cheese.
Special Features
The magnum bottle (1500ml) guarantees slower, more harmonious maturation. Larmandier-Bernier is among the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne – it doesn’t get more authentic than this.
