Wine Description for Latitude Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut 1500ml Magnum by Larmandier-Bernier

Colour & Appearance
Luminous lemon yellow with lively, fine-beaded mousse that underscores the vitality of this Blanc de Blancs. The magnum bottle lends the Champagne an even more elegant perlage.
Nose
Clear, precise and refreshingly herbaceous. The Latitude presents itself with citrus freshness, white strawberries and a distinctive herbal spice. Particularly characteristic: a slightly bitter aroma of tonic water and chalk, which reveals the mineral provenance. Entirely dry in character.
Palate
Here the full class of a young Blanc de Blancs from the chalk emerges: precise, pure and linear. Yet the Latitude offers more than mere minerality – the warmer south-facing slopes of Vertus bestow the wine with a remarkable fullness and depth, a certain richness that distinguishes it from lean chalk Champagnes. The four grams of dosage are barely perceptible.
Terroir & Origin
The Chardonnay grapes hail from the flatter, warmer south-facing slopes of Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. This vineyard site lends the wine its characteristic balance between chalky minerality and sun-warmed fullness.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Chardonnay. The Latitude (formerly „Tradition“) is a carefully composed cuvée from up to six vintages, which matures for a minimum of 24 months sur lattes. Extra Brut with merely four grams of dosage – a Champagne that reveals its terroir unadorned.
Food Pairing Suggestions
As an aperitif with puff pastry Parmesan biscuits, Cedra lemon carpaccio with scallop tartare or duck rillettes with brioche. The herbal spice and minerality harmonise beautifully with seafood and delicate appetisers.
Special Features
Matured in the impressive magnum bottle (1500ml), which permits slower, more harmonious development. A biodynamically produced Champagne from pioneer Larmandier-Bernier, which perfectly unites purism and terroir expression.
