Info about the wine
The name of Weingut am Klotz is strongly linked to its origins. The Isteiner Klotz is a striking mountain ridge based on Jurassic limestone deposits and is geographically located between the southern Black Forest and the Rhine Graben.
Info about the expansion
Ageing and spontaneous fermentation took place in stainless steel for 80% and in large used wooden barrels for 20%.
Color/Look
Brilliant golden yellow, with delicate green reflections.
Nose
The 2022 Kalk & Löss Chasselas enchants the nose with its restrained delicacy and elegant fragrance. Delicate notes of yeast, almonds and mussel shells appear alongside pear, quince, citrus and aniseed. Its cool and purist appearance immediately awakens the desire for the first sip.
Palate
On the palate, it perfectly fulfils the expectations of a refreshing, grippy and drinkable drop. It flirts with minerality and fine flavour and is wonderful with only 11 vol% alcohol. You'll be happy to drink a glass or two more, perfect in combination with fine food, even with savoury notes.
