Wine information
The wine comes from the 2.2 hectare Les Sureaux vineyard. The vineyard is characterised by clay, silt and sand at a depth of 50 to 80 cm on a bedrock of Asteria limestone. It lies at an altitude of 82 to 100 metres. Only Merlot was used for this wine. The vineyard is cultivated biodynamically. Agroforestry and permaculture are also integrated. After manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation took place, followed by ageing in used oak barrels for 18 months. The wine was bottled without filtration or fining.

Nose
This single-varietal Merlot from the Les Sureaux vineyard initially has a surprisingly restrained aroma. With air, however, it becomes increasingly intense and offers plenty of cassis alongside plums, blackberries, cherries and violets. There are also notes of chalk dust and some lightly grilled herbs.
Taste
On the palate, this is a juicy, still slightly astringent, cool and elegant Merlot with an impressive freshness and coolness as well as a clear, lively acidity structure. The wine is transparent and open with charming fruit and silky, only slightly firm tannins.
