The château has been owned by the Cochran family since 1988. The wines are among the avant-garde of the Côtes de Bourg region and are regularly recognised by the international wine press thanks to their exceptional power and finesse. In the tradition of the world's great wine estates, low yields and strict selection of the grapes are standard at Château Falfas. The healthy and full-bodied grapes are the basis for wines that reflect the multi-layered and complex soils of the terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand at their optimum ripening point. Long and careful vinification emphasises the high quality philosophy of Château Falfas. Basket pressing, cold maceration, cool fermentation and ageing in French oak are all part of the craft here. The result is wines that mature excellently in the bottle and have a corresponding ageing potential.
