Tasting note
Character
A slender, carefree white wine with a moderate 12.0% ABV, reflecting pure freshness and the unadulterated nature of the Piedmontese hills. The cuvée displays fine minerality, evokes wild herbs and wet sand, and focuses entirely on drinkability and a lightness that speaks clearly of its origin.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from the Roero in Piedmont, north-west of Alba. The terroir is defined by the steep sandy slopes of the so-called Sabbie Astiane – an ancient seabed. These poor soils lend Luca Faccenda’s wines a palpable marine heritage and a remarkable alpine elegance, setting them distinctly apart from the heavy clay and marl formations of their southern neighbour, Barolo.
Grape Varieties & Vinification
This cuvée brings together the local leading variety Arneis with Cortese. The wine is rooted in a philosophy of minimal intervention: in line with Luca’s credo “Everything is already in the grape”, the cellar work favours gentle preservation over cosmetic adjustments. This organic-certified estate lets the grapes speak for themselves, allowing the varietal aromatics and the delicate structure of the skins to shine without restraint.
Food Pairings
With its dry, vibrant character, this wine is an excellent match for light starters such as Vitello Tonnato, classic Antipasti Misti, subtly seasoned seafood salad, or delicate pasta dishes with herb pesto.
