Colour & Appearance

Luminous cherry red with medium transparency – classic for Nebbiolo, which reveals its elegance already in the glass.

Nose

Delicate and fragrant, this 2021 presents itself with a seductive bouquet of rose petals and mint. Beneath unfold notes of undergrowth, earth and fine wood, accompanied by subtle hints of cola and red berries. A Nebbiolo that prioritises finesse over power.

Palate

Finely chiselled and precise, the wine reveals itself on the palate. The vibrant acidity and still youthfully firm medium-grained tannins lend it structure and tension. A pulsating minerality runs through the transparent body, whilst warm fruit components, floral notes and blanched almonds provide complexity. The wine appears elegant, not opulent – typical of the sandy soils of Roncaglie.

Finish

Long and persistent with fine almond notes and floral hints that linger for some time. The minerality remains present and underscores the provenance.

Terroir & Origin

The grapes come from the single vineyard site Roncaglie in Barbaresco, where calcareous, clayey and sandy soils with south to south-westerly exposure at 280 metres altitude provide the characteristic elegance. The 34-year-old vines, trained in Guyot style, are planted at a density of 4,600 stocks per hectare.

Grape Variety & Vinification

100% Nebbiolo, vinified with 20-25% whole berries and three to four days of cold maceration. The 25-day maceration in stainless steel was carried out exclusively by submerging the cap. The malolactic fermentation took place in used barriques, followed by 24 months of maturation in large wooden vessels – a method that promotes elegance and terroir expression.

Food Pairing Recommendations

Classically with Brasato al Barolo, Agnolotti del Plin, veal brisket or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. Also an excellent choice with truffle dishes and braised game.

Special Features

The magnum bottle (1500ml) promises slower, more harmonious development. A Barbaresco that already offers drinking pleasure now, yet can easily age for a decade.
