Timorasso

In the hills of the Colli Tortonesi in south-eastern Piedmont lies the home of Timorasso, an indigenous grape variety that yields dense, structured white wines with enormous ageing potential. Shaped by a striking acidity and an almost salty minerality, the grape develops characterful greatness on lime-rich soils. In the glass, a multi-layered bouquet is revealed, which in its youth is reminiscent of acacia blossom and, with the years, takes on complex notes of ripe peach, beeswax and fine petrol spice. On the palate, the variety shows itself to be textured and powerful, an excellent companion to white poultry or mature cheese.

This gripping interplay of melting texture and vibrant freshness also characterises the wines of character from Vietti, which perfectly bring the origin-typical depth and structure of this special grape into the glass.
