At the age of 16, Manfred Tement had to take over his parents' winery because his father died unexpectedly in 1976. As a youngster, the Styrian was already considered a great winemaking talent in the 1980s. «Don't stand still, always get better» was his motto. Over the years, the winery grew from two hectares to around 80 hectares today, including the 20 hectares acquired in 2004 on the Slovenian side of the Ciringa site. So today they are dancing at two Zieregg weddings. The eldest son Armin has been in charge since 2005, and for some years now the second-born Stefan has completed the Tement trio. Together they made the decision to switch to organic viticulture. They have always taken courageous steps, and in humid Styria it is quite a challenge to convert such a large farm completely to organic.
