It is rare that there is anything spectacularly new to report from the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé regions. However, this is certainly the case with the first vintage of Domaine du Bouchot wines under the direction of Antoine Gouffier. The domaine was previously run by members of Antoine's family until he decided to join forces with his South African-born wife Ilse Nel in 2017 and take over in 2019. Domaine du Bouchot was the first domaine in conservative Pouilly-Fumé to switch to certified organic cultivation in 2009. 2020 will be the first Demeter-certified vintage for the domaine, whose ten hectares are planted on Portlandian limestone and Kimmeridge terroir.
