Colour & Appearance

Radiant golden yellow with a lively, finely dispersed mousse.

Nose

A complex entrée featuring aromas of vineyard peach and bright red berries. Beneath lie nutty accents, tree bark, fine mushrooms and a prominent saffron note, underpinned by a distinct, chalky minerality and herbal nuances.

Palate

On the palate, this sparkling wine presents itself taut and refreshing. A creamy yeasty note meets juicy fruit, carried by a perfectly integrated, invigorating effervescence. The mouthfeel is defined by a fine salinity that imparts both structure and immense drinkability.

Terroir & Origin

The grapes originate from the Isteiner Kirchberg in the Markgräflerland (Baden). The terroir is defined by geologically rare Jurassic limestone, which lends the sparkling wine its striking mineral tension. At the Isteiner Klotz, the winery is steadfastly committed to organic farming.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Crafted from early-harvested Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). Primary fermentation took place half in neutral barriques and half in stainless steel. Following tirage in July 2022, the sparkling wine matured for a minimum of 34 months on the lees until disgorgement in March 2025. The dosage is kept extremely low at 2 g/l.

Food Pairings

An outstanding aperitif that pairs masterfully with savoury tapas, mildly spicy Asian-inspired starters, seafood or roasted nuts.

Key Characteristics

An impressive Sekt created by the dedicated team surrounding the Reinecker and Keller families. The symbiosis of extended lees ageing and the extremely rare Jurassic limestone soil gives this Extra Brut an exceptionally complex, salty-mineral style.
