Colour & Appearance

Pale, luminous straw yellow with greenish reflections. Clear, brilliant appearance in the glass that already announces the freshness and vibrancy of this Grüner Veltliner.

Nose

Classically seductive Veltliner profile: white pepper notes and citrus fruits dominate, accompanied by green apple and freshly cut grass. Fine herbal nuances, a mineral component and subtle stone fruit aromas complete the picture. The nose remains precise and focused, without any heaviness.

Palate

On the palate, the full class of this wine reveals itself: taut, juicy and with a vibrant acidity structure that Roland Velich has masterfully integrated. The citrus notes return, complemented by green melon and a fine saline minerality. Despite the 13.5% alcohol, the wine feels light-footed and elegant, with impressive drinkability. The texture is smooth, almost creamy, without losing its crisp freshness.

Finish

Medium to long, with lingering citrus aromas and a refreshing peppery note. The minerality carries through, the wine leaves a clean, appetite-stimulating impression.

Terroir & Origin

From Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, a region that Roland Velich has redefined with his winery Moric. The name „Sankt Georgen“ refers to the specific vineyard site, whilst the subtitle underscores the ambition: serious wine from a gorgeous place.

100% Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s flagship grape variety. Velich, known above all for his monumental Blaufränkisch wines, demonstrates his extraordinary skill with white wine as well. The vinification follows Moric’s typical precision and restraint.
