In the glass

  1. Colour

Bright ruby red with a youthful sheen.

  2. Nose

Red cherry and amarena, accompanied by red berries, violet and a delicate herbal touch.

  3. Palate

Dry, juicy and lively, with fresh acidity, soft tannins and a cherry-driven, lightly spiced finish.

  4. Character

An uncomplicated, fruit-driven Valpolicella with tension rather than weight – inviting, clear and highly drinkable.

  5. Pairing

Pasta with tomato sugo or mushroom ragù, pizza with salami, antipasti with cured meats and young Pecorino.

  6. Notes

Comes from the oldest organic estate in the Veneto – Demeter-certified, without pesticides since 1974; the 2023 vintage was already partly vinified in the new gravity-flow cellar in San Pietro in Cariano.

Tasting note

Character
A dry Valpolicella showing its lively, unadorned side: fresh on the attack, with dark cherries, violets and a fine herbal note reminiscent of chamomile and dandelion at the field’s edge. Not a muscular wine, but one of clarity and drinkability – the very antithesis of the region’s heavy, jammy style. Those who know Emilio Fidora’s philosophy will taste it here: the vineyard as an organism, the wine as its unaffected voice.
Terroir & Origin
Besides the family estate of Civranetta in the hinterland of the Venetian Lagoon, the Fidora family also farms the Fraune estate in the classic valley of Fumane – the heart of Valpolicella. Fidora is the oldest organic estate in the Veneto: as early as 1974, Guido Fidora abandoned pesticides and artificial fertilisers, and today the fourth generation runs the estate Demeter-certified and biodynamically. Woods, hedges and meadows run through the properties, while cattle and horses close the nutrient cycle – an agriculture that gives the wine its freshness.
Grape Varieties & Vinification
The region’s classic trio: Corvina brings cherry and structure, Corvinone depth and spice, Rondinella colour and floral aromatics. Since 2024, all of the estate’s red wine production has passed through the new gravity-fed winery in San Pietro in Cariano, which runs entirely on photovoltaic power and lets the grapes glide from floor to floor without pumps – wine can hardly be made more gently.
Food Pairings
The ideal everyday companion for Venetian cuisine: with Pasta al Ragù, Risotto all’Amarone or pizza with radicchio and pancetta. Excellent with grilled poultry, beef tagliata and medium-aged Pecorino. Slightly chilled to 15 degrees, it reveals its most charming side in summer.
