Terroir & Origin

Priorat, characterised by steep slate hillsides (Llicorella), yields wines of extraordinary minerality. Terroir al Limit works with old, ungrafted Carignan vines in elevated sites where cooler temperatures and sparse soil provide natural concentration whilst maintaining freshness. The Les Tosses parcel benefits from this exceptional location, which enables tension and precision – qualities that have long been neglected in modern Priorat.

Grape Variety & Vinification

Carignan, often dismissed as a rustic bulk producer, reveals its true face here: with low yields and respectful winemaking, it delivers wines of remarkable depth and vitality. Terroir al Limit champions minimal intervention, spontaneous fermentation and restrained oak use to avoid obscuring the fruit clarity and mineral texture. The result is a wine that combines structure with drinkability – a rarity in a region that long favoured opulence.

Food Pairing Suggestions

A wine for the table: braised rabbit with olives, lamb shoulder with Provençal herbs, ratatouille or grilled aubergines with romesco sauce underscore its Mediterranean soul. Also an excellent choice with duck breast with figs or aged Manchego. Its freshness and minerality make it more versatile than many of its more powerful Priorat counterparts.
