The Larmandier family grows the grapes for their champagnes around the municipalities of Vertus, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize. Pierre Larmandier and his wife Sophie rely on natural yeasts. Every year, every vineyard and therefore every barrel has its very own yeast. The result is absolutely authentic and fascinating. Instead of diversity, there is variety in the base wines and in the champagne. Each vineyard is matured individually in stainless steel tanks, barriques or barrels. The dosage is deliberately kept very low and is usually less than 5g/litre in order to preserve the incomparable purist minerality. Freshness, authenticity and precise minerality are the hallmarks of Larmandier-Bernier champagnes.
