Wine description for Fuorleggero Rosato Frizzante Emilia Lambrusco IGT 2023 by Cinque Campi

Colour & Appearance
Vibrant sour cherry red with an extremely fine perlage.
Nose
Reveals the full spectrum of red fruits: from sour to preserved cherries, complemented by wild raspberries and dark blackberries. With a bit of aeration, the Grasparossa grape unveils its spicy notes of black pepper, allspice, juniper and delicate fennel seed.
Palate
Dry, highly disciplined and focused on structure rather than mere fruit. Inviting, grippy tannins meet a ripe, expansive acidity. The delicate mousseux is perfectly balanced against the tannic structure, allowing the Frizzante to glide remarkably smoothly across the palate.
Terroir & Origin
Grown in the hills of Reggio Emilia at the foot of the Apennines at around 200 metres altitude. The soils of clay, sand and silt with a high silicate content impart a mineral freshness to this Pet Nat, which forms its structural foundation.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Crafted from the indigenous Lambrusco Grasparossa variety (yield of only around 2 kg per vine). The grapes are directly pressed and spontaneously fermented in concrete tanks. Following six months of ageing in concrete, secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle using indigenous yeasts and chilled must – bottled according to the lunar calendar (“Luna Calante, Vino Spumante”), unfined and with less than 10 mg/L total sulphur.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Outstanding with traditional specialities from Emilia-Romagna, such as fine Mortadella, aged Parmigiano Reggiano or spicy cured meats.
Particularities
With a micro-production of just 1,659 bottles, Vanni Nizzoli (a VinNatur member) showcases the unvarnished, artisanal face of authentic Lambrusco – completely free from industrial sweetness.
