Wine description for Riesling Furstentum Grand Cru 2022 from Domaine Albert Mann

Colour & appearance
Strong straw yellow with bright, golden reflections - a wine that already announces its maturity and concentration in the glass.
Nose
A cosmopolitan flavour profile that ranges between Orange and lime blossom, green mandarin and Quinces changes. These are joined by Medlars and pickled ginger, while Sourdough bread crust, cereal notes and a hint of green tea provide depth and complexity. A nose that combines elegance with substance.
Palate
This is where the Furstentum shows its true nature: extremely disciplined on the palate, with powdery fine phenolic, which gives a stimulatingly tart grip. The Ripe, broad acidity characterises the cool nature of this Riesling, while a slightly earthy minerality has an accelerating and refreshing effect. The fruit blends inseparably with the tart notes - a wine of remarkable tension and energy.
Departure
Long, animating and characterised by a precise bite. The minerality carries far, the acidity remains present - a finish that invites you to take another sip.
Terroir & origin
The Furstentum Grand Cru in Kientzheim is the coldest of the large Alsace vineyards - ten days of vegetation ahead of the neighbouring Schlossberg characterise the character. The calcareous soils and 30-year-old vines give this Riesling its characteristic tension between fruit and minerality.
Grape variety & vinification
Riesling from the biodynamically farmed Domaine Albert Mann, a family business with roots dating back to the 17th century. Each plot is individually cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles - you can taste the meticulous handiwork.
Food pairing suggestions
The cool minerality and tart structure predestine this Riesling for Vietnamese soup with tomatoes and pineapple, Cantonese squid with early garlic and ginger or Chicken in tamarind with tomatoes and jackfruit. Perfect with Asian flavours with acidity and spiciness.
Special features
With 14% alcohol, this Grand Cru shows maturity and concentration without losing its cool elegance - a balancing act that can only be achieved in the best sites in Alsace.
