Colour & Appearance

Clear, translucent cherry red with luminous transparency – a classic appearance for authentic Sangiovese from high altitude.

Nose

Captivingly multi-layered: sour cherries and cherry stones dominate, underpinned by undergrowth and crushed stone. The characteristic violet notes from the Alberese soils lend the bouquet a fascinating mineral dimension. These are joined by nuances of dark chocolate, delicate leather and subtle wood spice – an aromatic concert with Tuscan soul.

Palate

Here Sean O’Callaghan’s signature emerges in full perfection. The 2021 vintage bestows upon this pure Sangiovese that tension and acidity structure which once defined Chianti Classico and has become rare today. Red berry, crisp fruit meets a distinctive yet refined tannin that structures without dominating. Almost electrifying in its freshness, yet of impressive depth – a wine that effortlessly unites elegance and power.

Finish

Long, precise and mineral-driven. The acid-tannin architecture carries well beyond the final sip and promises exceptional ageing potential.

Terroir & Origin

Finest Sangiovese grapes from the vineyards of Radda in the heart of Chianti Classico. The Alberese soils and the altitude of the vineyard sites shape the mineral character and vibrant freshness of this extraordinary wine.

Grape Variety & Vinification

100% Sangiovese, traditionally foot-trodden and spontaneously fermented in concrete tanks. Two months maceration with minimal extraction approach, followed by 18 months ageing in 90% concrete and steel, 10% in partially new tonneaux. This gentle vinification allows the grape variety and terroir to speak unadulterated.

Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Pappardelle al Cinghiale, aged Pecorino Toscano, Ossobuco, lamb rack with rosemary or mushroom risotto with truffle.
