The Ried Steiner Hund extends above Stein an der Donau into the Reisperbachtal. The terraced vineyards of Nikolaihof lie at 230 to 290 metres elevation with impressive 36° slope gradient. The subsoil of crystalline gneiss and mica schist with amphibolite characterises a dry rigosol soil with low water retention capacity – ideal conditions for mineral, age-worthy Rieslings.

As an Archive Release 2024, this Riesling proves itself a versatile food companion. Perfect with roasted char, zander fillet with saffron sauce, veal schnitzel with mushroom cream or aged mountain cheese. The oriental notes also harmonise beautifully with mildly spiced Asian dishes.
