Frühburgunder

Also known as: Pinot Noir Précoce (France), Frühroter Burgunder

Frühburgunder is an early-ripening mutation of Pinot Noir – not a distinct variety, but one of the many variations that have evolved from the Burgundian grape over centuries. The earlier ripening changes the character: less power, but often clearer acidity and finer tannins.

Bertram Baltes in the Ahr is amongst the few German estates that give this rarity space.
