Wine description for Silvaner trocken 2024 by Luckert – Zehnthof

Colour & Appearance
Pale greenish-yellow with luminous reflections – a visual promise of freshness and vibrancy in the glass.
Nose
Here the Silvaner reveals itself in its purest, unadorned form: clear, direct, without any pretension. A fascinating interplay between yellow fruits such as mirabelle plum, khaki and coffee-lime and green-ethereal notes of lemon balm, coriander and parsley. Vegetable nuances of pea shoots and fennel lend the bouquet an earthy authenticity. The shell limestone subsoil manifests itself in a precise, almost cool minerality – typical of the finest Franconias Silvaner.
Palate
Robust, crisp, juicy – this wine arrives with palpable intensity. The structure is dense and compact, with lovely breadth, perfectly captured by a refreshing acidity (5.2 g/l). The aromas from the nose return: yellow and green fruit, embedded in a chalky minerality that gives the wine its taut, precise character. With 2.6 g/l residual sugar, it displays a fine smoothness that elegantly balances the acidity – classic Franconian signature.
Finish
Long, herbal, fresh and spicy. The aromas linger persistently on the palate, the minerality carries through to the end. A finish that makes you crave the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The 24 to 44-year-old vines are rooted in the Sulzfeld vineyards on upper shell limestone – that terroir which gives Franconian Silvaner its characteristic minerality and precision. Quality-oriented yields of just 55 hl/ha guarantee concentration and expression.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Traditional vinification with natural yeasts in classic wooden barrels – this is how Silvaner with soul and regional character is created. Moderate 12% alcohol underscores its drinkability.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Tailor-made for asparagus with hollandaise sauce, blue trout, pike-perch with fennel vegetables or goat’s cheese. Also an excellent choice with herb quark with boiled potatoes or steamed vegetables.
Special Features
A masterclass in authentic Franconian Silvaner: unpretentious, precise, with pronounced terroir character. This is exactly how an honest local wine should taste.
