The ideal companion to asparagus dishes, crisp salads with goat’s cheese or Asian-inspired stir-fries with fresh herbs.

Tasting note
Colour & appearance
Pale lemon yellow, clear and brilliant in the glass — a Riesling that promises freshness even visually.
Nose
Lively and bright-fruited: citrus fruits, green apple and pear, alongside greengage and a hint of peach. Ripeness and freshness are perfectly balanced here, with neither side gaining the upper hand.
Palate
Juicy, cool, direct. A fine, successful sweetness-acidity balance carries the wine, while the fruit appears ripe without becoming heavy. An estate Riesling that proves entry-level is by no means synonymous with banality: easy-drinking, lively, with plenty of drive.
Finish
Fresh and pure, with a citrusy aftertaste and a fine core of fruit that lingers pleasantly long.
Terroir & origin
The vines grow around Maikammer in the Southern Palatinate, on calcareous marl and red sandstone soils. The climate shows Mediterranean traits, while the Haardt forest serves as a protective barrier against westerly winds and ensures a good diurnal temperature range — ideal for Riesling with ripe fruit and lively acidity.
Grape variety & vinification
A single-varietal Riesling, vinified dry with a moderate 12% alcohol. In the cellar at M. Schädler – Steffen Mugler, restraint is the guiding principle: spontaneous fermentation, long ageing on the lees, minimal fining. The result is a wine that clearly reflects its Palatinate origins rather than being smothered in winemaking gloss.
Food recommendations
A versatile food wine for uncomplicated occasions: with asparagus with vinaigrette, goat’s cheese salad, grilled king prawns or a pan of Asian noodles with vegetables. It is also an excellent choice with juicy chicken breast with lemon thyme or as a casual glass to share among friends.
Special features
What distinguishes this Riesling is its honesty. It does not pretend to be a Grosses Gewächs, yet it fulfils its purpose with artisanal ambition: clear, fresh, balanced. Behind it stand Daniela and Steffen Mugler, who tend their vines in Maikammer biodynamically — you taste the diligence, not the effort.
