Wine description for Moscato d’Asti DOCG 2025 375ml by Vietti

Colour & Appearance
Pale yellow with green reflections and a fine bead.
Nose
A bouquet of lemon balm, verbena and woodruff, accompanied by rhubarb, orange blossom and elderflower. Fresh water mint and lemon zest lend a cooling note to the opulent array of aromas.
Palate
Juicy and generous, with a powder-fine mousse and a jovial character. The fruity-floral aromatic profile is supported by vibrant acidity, which gives the wine tension despite its inherent sweetness.
Finish
Moreish and refreshing, with brilliant floral accents on the finish.
Terroir & Origin
Selected parcels in Castiglione Tinella, in the heart of the Moscato zone of the Asti area. The roughly 40-year-old vines are rooted in calcareous marl soils containing shell limestone, tufa and sand – a terroir that imparts fine minerality and structure to the Moscato.
Grape Variety & Vinification
100% Moscato Bianco, trained using the Guyot system. Following selective hand harvesting and gentle pressing, the must is kept cold to prevent spontaneous fermentation. Fermentation takes place in pressurised tanks according to the Metodo Martinotti; at around 5% ABV, chilling halts fermentation, preserving the natural residual sugar and the fine bead.
Food Pairings
A classic companion to fruity desserts such as apricot cake or lemon tart, but also excellent with fresh fruit salad or as a refreshing aperitif on the terrace.
Special Features
Vietti, the estate from Castiglione Falletto, has epitomised Piedmontese wine culture since 1873 – renowned for Barolo and for rescuing Arneis. This Moscato displays the same craftsmanship in the sweet, sparkling realm: no cloying sweetness, but rather precise fruit and drinkability at just 5% alcohol.
