Wine information
Vin de Paille is straw wine. The grapes, which are harvested late, are dried on wooden or straw mats before they are fermented. The varieties Savagnin, Chardonnay and Poulsard are permitted for this. These are also used at Domaine Grand. The wine ferments in inox and is matured in oak barrels for at least three years, in this case even longer.

Nose
The Vin de Paille smells rich and intense of apricots and peaches, classic English orange marmalade, persimmon, star fruit and dried figs combined with a little chestnut, nougat and nut puree.
Palate
Once you have the wine on your palate, your heart swells. Of course, this is a sweet wine, but the sweetness is excellently buffered by the striking and at the same time elegant acidity. There are deep aromatics here, reminiscent of mocha, nuts, muscovado sugar, black tea and honey, ripe and candied oranges and kumquats, soft apricots and some ginger. The wine is not overloaded, but well dosed in its sweetness, fine spice, deep candied fruit and lively acid structure.
