Information about the wine
The Champagne is a 100% Meunier from Troissy in the Vallée de la Marne. The grapes come from the Lieu-dits La Pièce des Cotéas with western exposure and La Pièces des Uselants with north-northwest exposure on stony, marly, clayey and sandy soil. The wine is aged in wood and terracotta amphorae. No malolactic fermentation is undertaken. The Champagne received its tirage in 04/2020 and dégorgement in 02/2022. It has 3.2 grams of dosage.
Colour
pale straw yellow with fine perlage
Nose
The Meunier offers a powerful and fruity nose with typical aspects of subtle oxidation from ageing in wood. Apples, apple skins and a hint of hop meet fresh redcurrants and dried cranberries with some carambola and lemon, wax and a touch of caramel.
Palate
On the palate, the La Terre Mère opens with a very pleasant pressure and wonderful clarity and precision. Everything is in its place here. The texture is creamy and slightly chalky, the wine feels sparkling with light yeast and lively yet fine perlage. The fruit appears ripe and extract-sweet, combining citric notes with some stone and kernel fruit, star fruit and dark berries. Behind this lies some liquorice, hay and pastry. The Champagne offers very good inner tension, is long and already delicious.
